On December 17th, the Illinois Tollway announced ConstructionWorks, a new workforce training and careers program to serve job seekers at 18 sites across Cook County, DuPage County, Chicago, Rockford, Aurora, and Waukegan.
Administered by The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, ConstructionWorks will provide free pre-apprenticeship training and support services to individuals seeking training and career opportunities in the highway construction industry. Additionally, The Partnership will help identify and directly place unemployed construction workers and trainees in meaningful construction opportunities.
ConstructionWorks is expected to train and place at least 150 individuals during the initial three-year term. New and skilled workers are needed for upcoming construction projects as part of the Tollway’s 15-year, $14 billion Move Illinois capital program, as well as other capital projects advanced by Cook County, the Illinois Department of Transportation, and transit agencies.
We’re proud of R.M. Chin’s Angela Boyle for her contributions to ConstructionWorks!
