In partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), American Airlines and British Airways announced the start of construction at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) Terminal 8 on Monday, January 6th.
The $344 million investment will provide improvements in the overall passenger experience, including the addition of five widebody gates and four adjacent hardstands, enhanced baggage systems, new lounges, premium check-in space and upgraded concession and retail options.
Additionally, passengers arriving in the New York will enjoy the ability to more conveniently connect onto other American Airlines flights, and passengers departing New York will gain the flexibility of 14 daily flights to London all departing from the same terminal. The additional 70,000 square feet will create a truly world-class experience at JFK.
R.M. Chin’s Paul Sefcovic is assisting the American Airlines project management team at Terminal 8 and other projects at JFK. We are excited to be a part of the American Airlines effort that will deliver change for a better New York!
