Last week, R.M. Chin’s Jocelyn Lim attended the annual Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) XPONENTIAL 2019 National Conference at McCormick Place in Chicago.

AUVSI is the world’s largest nonprofit organization devoted exclusively to advancing the unmanned systems and robotics community. Jocelyn had the opportunity to attend sessions focused on the progress of unmanned aircraft systems (drones) and the use of drones in the construction industry. She learned about the issues the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) faces and the upcoming changes to their regulations.

During the conference, she attended a workshop with Embry-Riddle and obtained her AUSVI TOP Level 1 remote pilot certificate recognizing a higher level of demonstrated knowledge, professionalism, flight proficiency, safety, and risk management practices while flying.

In addition, she joined industry leaders from Women and Diversity in Robotics to learn about key issues and initiatives geared toward increasing diversity in the drone and robotics industry.
