On November 12th, R.M. Chin welcomed Nonda Harris to our Chicago office! Nonda serves as a Project Manager and is responsible for overseeing various facilities and capital improvement projects under our Illinois Tollway Program Management Office contract (sub to HNTB).
Nonda comes to R.M. Chin with a master’s degree in public administration and more than 20 years of work experience. His prior work experience includes serving as Lead Facility Manager of Facilities/Operations for Chicago Public Schools where he oversaw approximately 150 schools and managed 8 facility managers and 175 union engineers. Additionally, Nonda served as the Senior Director of Development for McPier (McCormick Place and Navy Pier) where he oversaw the $879 million West Expansion Project, capital development, and other construction/facility projects at both McCormick Place and Navy Pier.
Nonda is heavily involved within his community and is currently a member of the following organizations: A.H.E.P.A., Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, Dara Association, Pan Laconian, Lane Tech Alumni, and City Club of Chicago. Additionally, he is a former Local School Council member, Boy Scouts of American Cub Master and Assistance Boy Scout Leader.
During his free time, Nonda enjoys fishing, hunting, cooking, and watching documentaries while being surrounded by his friends and family. He has been married to his wife for 34 years and has two children. His daughter graduated in May from University of Missouri at Columbia with Honors in Documentary Journalism and his son will graduate from Loyola’s Law School this December.
Nonda is excited to join R.M Chin and is looking forward to helping the Tollway Facilities group continue to be a safe and user-friendly place.
