Dallas Fort Worth International Airport: High C Gates

American Airlines/Dallas Fort Worth International Airport

R.M. Chin & Associates, Inc. (CHIN) provided project management services for the construction of the new state-of-the-art High C Gates at Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport on behalf of American Airlines. The five new American Airlines gates in DFW’s Terminal C opened on June 1, 2022, featuring several enhanced amenities. The facility construction utilized modular construction technology, setting a new standard for DFW. The High C Gates are part of a larger, future Terminal C Pier project at DFW.

Project Information

The project consisted of construction of a new facility to support the expansion of five gates, as an extension of DFW’s Terminal C. This involved a collaborative effort between DFW and American Airlines, with the airport constructing the shell and core of the terminal and AA completing the interior finish out. The gates were opened four months ahead of schedule and below budget.

Key Features

Several amenities are included in the new gates to enhance the customer experience. These enhancements include:
» Dynamic glass
» Unique arts
» Smart restrooms
» Incredible views to create a relaxing atmosphere
» Large digital information screens
» Space for future retail and concession expansion

Construction Technology

The gates were built utilizing new innovations in modular construction engineering, which involved the gates being constructed elsewhere, then being delivered to DFW overnight. This allowed for minimal flight delays and impacts on travelers.
