Illinois Tollway Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) Rebuilding and Widening Project (Eastern Segment)
R.M. Chin served as the Construction Corridor Manager (CCM) and Construction Manager (CM) in a joint venture with AMEC Foster Wheeler and Jacobs for the I-90 Rebuilding and Widening Project from Illinois Route 53 to the Tri-State Tollway (I-294); in addition to the CM for the westbound segment from the Kennedy Expressway to I-294.
Construction management of the eastern segment involved oversight and coordination of nine mainline roadway and underpass bridge reconstruction projects, five local crossroad bridge projects, five retaining/noise wall projects, six utility relocation projects in conjunction with over-the-road building demolition, and multiple intelligent transportation system (ITS)-related projects. R.M. Chin played an integral role in ensuring the successful delivery of these projects.
Responsibilities included:
- CCM for approximately $820 million in construction for the eastern segment.
- CM for contract I-13-4212, which included mainline reconstruction from Lee Street/Mannheim Rd to I-294. Construction value of $60 million.
- CM for contract I-13-4156, which included retaining wall construction and pavement reconstruction from the Kennedy Expressway to I-294; construction value $18 million.
- CM for contract I-13-5679, which included retaining wall construction from Lee Street to I-294; construction value $13 million.
R.M. Chin is also providing project coordination for the new Barrington Road interchange and is involved in Tollway’s upcoming rollout of SmartRoad technologies to continue to enhance the entire 62-mile corridor.
