On May 23rd, the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Chicago Chapter held their 4th Annual Chicago Chapter Awards Ceremony to recognize local outstanding achievement in the practice of construction and program management. R.M. Chin & Associates, Inc. (R.M. Chin) had the honor of receiving the 2019 CMAA Chicago Chapter Project Award in the Buildings category for the CRRC Sifang America Rail Car Manufacturing Facility.
Serving as Owner’s Representative for CRRC Sifang America, R.M. Chin provided project execution and oversight during all phases of facility construction, including coordination, document tracking, and field progress reporting. The new $87 million, 380,944-sf CRRC facility will soon assemble the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA)’s 7000 Series rail cars.
“With this being CRRC’s first facility in the area, R.M. Chin and our team members provided local expertise on how to effectively execute a construction project of this type in Chicago. The entire project team did an excellent job of collaborating in this fast-paced construction environment. I’m proud to have served as Owner’s Representative,” stated Joseph Donnell, Vice President at R.M. Chin.
Congratulations to the R.M. Chin team members involved – Raymond Chin, Mike Witte, Joseph Donnell, and Paul Sefcovic – as well as CRRC Sifang America. R.M. Chin is proud to help advance rail car manufacturing and job creation in Chicago.
