The new TEXRail Project is one month away from being passenger ready! The 27-mile commuter rail line will extend from downtown Fort Worth, across northeast Tarrant County, through North Richland Hills and Grapevine, and into the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)’s Terminal B.

As a subconsultant to HNTB, R.M. Chin & Associates, Inc. (R.M. Chin) has been providing construction management and QA inspection services. R.M. Chin recently had the opportunity to help test the new Trinity Metro FLIRT3 trains as they made their way to DFW. The new FLIRT3 trains are designed to comfortably hold 488 Passengers during their smooth, low-noise ride.

“R.M. Chin is proud to be part of this transformative project,” said Eileen Chin, R.M. Chin’s President. “Thank you to DFW and HNTB for providing this opportunity to our growing Dallas/Fort Worth based team.”

The estimated $1 billion project is projected to serve more than 8,000 daily riders at nine stations by the end of the first year of operation. By 2035, nearly 14,000 riders are projected to ride the system. It is anticipated that passengers will save 21 minutes of ride time on TEXRail. Passenger service is anticipated to begin January 5, 2019.
