The Early Years | 1989–1999

Establishing Our Foundation

1989

Raymond Chin founded R.M. Chin & Associates with a clear commitment to integrity, technical excellence, and trusted client partnerships.

1992

Raymond Chin supports the City of Chicago during the Great Chicago Flood restoration, earning firmwide recognition, launching the R.M. Chin & Associates name, and reinforcing the firm’s reputation for leadership under pressure.

1992–1993

The firm enters the aviation market through its first major assignments at O’Hare International Airport, managing the new International Terminal 5 with the Chicago Department of Aviation. During this period, R.M. Chin & Associates establishes its corporate office and earns MBE certification.

Late 1990s

R.M. Chin & Associates expands its buildings portfolio, delivering projects such as the Lincoln Park Zoo Mammal House and municipal infrastructure programs, further diversifying its technical expertise.

Growth & Diversification | 2000–2009

New Leadership Launches Transportation

2004–2005

R.M. Chin & Associates expands its leadership team with the addition of Eileen Chin, strengthening the firm’s long-term vision and organizational depth.

Mid-2000s

The firm launches its transportation practice and secures its first contract with the Illinois Tollway, marking an important step in broadening its market presence.

National Expansion | 2010–2019

Extending our Reach and Design Services

2010–2011

R.M. Chin & Associates expands its aviation program nationally, supporting major airport initiatives across the country. This includes establishing roots in Texas, opening a regional office in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

2014

Eileen Chin purchases majority interest in the firm, ensuring continuity of leadership and positioning R.M. Chin & Associates for sustained growth.

2018

R.M. Chin & Associates expands its presence in the Northeast, supporting complex aviation programs in New York.

2019

Design services are formally launched, enhancing R.M. Chin & Associates’ integrated project delivery capabilities.

R.M. Chin & Associates completes a comprehensive brand refresh and debuts a new logo, reflecting the firm’s growth, culture, future direction and changing its name to CHIN.

2023

CHIN reaches 100 employees – a milestone that underscores continued investment in people, expertise, and long-term client partnerships. This growth also reflects the expansion of CHIN’s national presence and its capabilities.
